Catherine Nelson

Catherine "Cathy" Nelson died peacefully Oct. 20, 2008. She was born, Jan. 29, 1913, to William and Martha Stringham at a coal mining camp in Boulder County. She married Lee Nelson at Georgetown in 1930. They lived in Denver until 1942, when they moved with their family to Fort Collins. She provided loving care to many children. She also volunteered many hours at the Senior Center. Cathy is survived by her daughters, Renie Dane, Lelia Mel, Carolyn Chuck, Cathy Bill; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four siblings; and husbands, Lee Nelson, Al Nelson, and Burt Haaland; two sons; a daughter; a grandson; and two great-granddaughters. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27th at the Timberline Church, 2908 S. Timberline Rd. Private Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
