Caroline Phelan-Jones

Caroline Heller Phelan-Jones passed away Dec. 13 in Fort Collins. Caroline was born Oct. 6, 1992 in Rolla, Mo., to David Sanford Jones and Jane Parker Phelan. Caroline was a sophomore at Poudre High School in the International Baccalaureate program. She was a talented athlete, playing soccer for the Fort Collins Arsenal and PHS Impala teams. Caroline is survived by her parents; and her younger sister, Savanna, of Fort Collins; grandfather, Sanford Jones and wife, Judy; grandmother, Martha Braden; grandfather, Richard Phelan and wife, Barbara; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Caroline was preceded in death by her grandmother, Carol Phelan; and her great-grandmother, Mary Heller. Caroline's infectious smile and passion for so many things in life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. While the passing of this beautiful child fills us with sorrow, we should be reminded to celebrate the happiness and share the joy that Caroline brought to each of our lives. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17 at The First United Methodist Church, 1005 Stover St., Fort Collins. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be sent in the name of The Caroline Phelan-Jones Memorial Fund to the Wells Fargo Bank, 401 S. College, Fort Collins, CO 80521 or through any Wells Fargo Bank branch, and may also be made at the memorial service.
