Carole Ann Suchy of Fort Collins, Colorado was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, October 17, 2026; she was 89 years old or, as she would say, “celebrating her 62nd anniversary of her 27th birthday”!
Carole was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and moved to Michigan in 1953 at the age of 16; she went from attending a one-room schoolhouse to co-valedictorian at Warren High School, something she was very proud of. In 2013, she moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where she peacefully passed.
Her first marriage was to Michael Cady, Sr. from 1955 to 1963 and together, they had three children, Michael Cady, Jr (Deborah), both deceased; Denise Walkowski (Jon); and Lynne Deibel (Bob, deceased). She was married to Frank Suchy from 1980 until his death in 2009; they blended Carole’s three children with Frank’s six children - Phillip (deceased), John (deceased), Kirk (deceased), Kimberly McCauley, Marvin (Miki, deceased), and Rose White (Rick) and created a happy, loving family. Carole is also survived by her sister Jean Greiner (Ted, deceased) and her brother Clayton Schwach (Kathy). She was a proud grandma to 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Carole had many nieces, nephews, and friends over her long and adventurous life.
Carole was a Christian and her faith was very important to her, often saying that her Faith is what has gotten her through the highs and lows of life.
She had a great sense of humor, was an avid reader, wrote poetry and plays, loved to travel (48 out of 50 states!), gamble, play cards, entertain, bowl, play bingo, attend seminars, dance, sing, and enjoyed music, especially Bob Seger and Keith Urban. She cherished her Department 56 Christmas and Halloween “villages”, belonged to several groups, including Red Hats, Fort Collins Newcomers Club, and her favorite at the Senior Center “Donut Make You Wonder”. And last, but certainly not least, she absolutely LOVED animals, especially the dogs in her life.
Carole earned her associate degree in her forties while also managing the corporate tax department at Kelly Services until she retired in 1995. Once she retired, she made the most of her life and perused her many passions.
Carole is now on her next adventure and while she’ll be greatly missed, her light will shine in our hearts and in our memories. Ride Sally Ride.
