Carol Lois Clerkin, age 81, passed away peacefully in her home in Fort Collins, Colorado, surrounded by family on Thursday, March 17, 2016. She was born in Denver, Colorado to Lester and Ethel (Lovin) Potter and was the oldest of three children.
Carol spent part of her childhood in Boulder, Colorado, then grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. After attending Fort Collins High School, she married Thomas M. Clerkin in 1952. Carol retired from Colorado State University, where she spent the majority of her career.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her younger sister and brother, Coralie Potter and Ronald Potter, and her seven children, Mike, Debbie (Biedron), Bill, Steve, Pat, David, and Craig; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Carol will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She always had coffee on, and could beat anyone's best peanut brittle, fudge, or fried chicken.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel at 121 W. Olive Street, Fort Collins, Colorado, 80524. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery at 1900 W. Mountain Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado, 80521.
Family and friends will celebrate Carol's life at the Hideout Patio Restaurant & Bar, at 1903 E. Lincoln Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado, 80524, after burial. Flowers may be sent to the Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
