Carmen Maria Valdez

Carmen Maria Valdez 79, of Fort Collins died February 27th 2023, at Pathways Hospice. Mrs. Valdez was born in Cimarron New Mexico March 21st, 1943. Carmen was the oldest girl of 9 children. Carmen moved to Fort Collins from Craig, Co with her children 56 years ago. Carmen married Moses B Valdez on May 29, 1976, in Fort Collins. She first worked at Teledyne Waterpik for a few years then at HP for over 20 years where she retired from. She then worked part time at Sam's as a Demo person then in the bakery before she quit for health reasons. She enjoyed going to black Hawk, dancing and spending time and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her 5 children Maxine Maestas Faulkner(Gary Harper) Michael Maestas, Bonnie Maestas, Rodney Maestas and Chris Maestas (Tina Maestas) all of Fort Collins and Severance CO two adopted daughters, Brenda and Shawna Maestas Valdez of Fort Collins; Three brothers, Fred Trujillo of Alamogordo New Mexico, Edward Jimenez of Thornton, Co, Anthony Jimenez of Fort Collins, 3 sisters Lola Valdez of Westminster, Co, Helen Garza of Brackettville, Tx, Beatrice Soto of Missoula Mt, 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Carmen was loved by so many nieces and nephews as well as the many who she was lovingly known as "Nanny". Preceding Carmen in death are her Husband Moses Valdez, her father, Theodoro Jimenez; her mother, Aurora Jimenez; her Brother Theodore Jimenez ; and sister Lisa Heguy.

A viewing will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel Tuesday March 7th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be at 11:30 am. Wednesday March 8th at Timberline Church, 2908 S. Timberline Road. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
