Carmen Martinez, 64, of Fort Collins, died December 16, 2009 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Martinez was born February 13, 1944 in Los Angeles, Calif., to Manuel Martinez and Bernabel Mary Martinez. Carmen was a residential housekeeper and a faithful catholic at Holy Family Church. Survivors include her father, Manuel Martinez of Pueblo, Yaki, Mexico; two children, Regie Martinez and Reyez Martinez both of Fort Collins; two brothers, Manuel Martinez of Fort Collins and Chris Salazar of Greeley; six grandchildren, Breanna, Kristina, Chelsea, Regina, and Selena Martinez, Lupe Sanchez, and Robert Cruz; two great-grandchildren, Georgie and Esmeralda. Preceding Carmen in death are her mother, Bernabel Palacio; brother, Louie Martinez; a sister, Esther Montoya, and a grandchild, Reggie Juan Martinez, II. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Father Damian de la Cruz, C.R. will officiate the service. Those who desire may view Mrs. Martinez 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday and Tuesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
