Carmen M. Grass

Carmen M. Grass, 94, of Fort Collins, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2013 at her home with loved ones. Carmen was born April 28, 1918 in Fort Collins to Julian and Mary Martinez. Carmen married Leroy Sye in Fort Collins and then she married Sam Grass, who both preceded her in death. Mrs. Grass spent 35 years of her life in Fort Collins, moving here from Hanna, Wyoming. She had six years of schooling. Carmen was a homemaker, enjoying cooking, crafts, crocheting, sewing and shopping. Survivors include her son, John Torres of Denver; daughter, Cecilia Beecher of Fort Collins; brothers, Leonard Martinez, Andrew Martinez, and Frank Martinez; sisters, Lucy Martinez, and Maria Eloisa Martinez, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Preceding Carmen in death are her father and mother, Julian and Mary Martinez, and husbands, Leroy Sye and Sam Grass. A Viewing will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service and Interment will take place at Herriman Cemetery in Riverton, Utah.
