July 5, 1941 — December 18, 2015

Listen to Obituary
Cameron "Tom" Thomas Herring, Jr. passed on Friday, December 18, 2015, after a long battle against cancer. His grace and strength for the duration of the illness was admirable.
He was born on July 5, 1941 in Fort Collins to parents, Cameron Herring and Elizabeth Heustis Herring, who preceded him in death.

On May 3, 1963 he married Mary Tuttle, his wife of 52 years and she was at his bedside when he passed away.

Tom had a fun-loving and teasing personality. He had a huge heart and was always willing to help his friends and family.

In his younger years, Tom was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved to play poker and shoot dice at the craps table. He has a tremendous heart for animals and he loved farming and raising and caring for cattle and horses. He had a special fondness for his canine companion, Rozzy G. "the wonder dog".

Tom graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1959. He was a lifetime member of the local Elks lodge BPOE 804 and the Colorado Chapter of the POA Horse Club.

Tom is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter, Brandi Herring and her companion, Susan Arias; sister in law, Nancy Tuttle; a niece and nephew and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a cancer fund of your choice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Elks Lodge, 1424 E. Mulberry. All are welcome.
