Calvin John Strobel, born on January 21, 1936 in Bethune, Colorado, peacefully crossed over to eternal life on June 15, 2017, surrounded by his beloved wife, Bev, and his family.
Cal, affectionately known to his family as, "Pap," was 81 years old and larger than life.
To know Cal was to hear his beautiful tenor voice sing his favorite German hymns, to share in his passion of agriculture and farming, and to benefit from his teaching and skill in carpentry and construction.
To know Pap was to join in with his infectious laughter and watch as his ever present smile and quick wit livened up a room. He enjoyed lively conversation, never hesitant to discuss his opinion because every opinion has an argument.
Cal's gift to all was one of selfless generosity and unconditional love -- he never knew a stranger. He was highly devoted to his family, and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be remembered by his loving wife, Bev, his children, Curt (Kelley), Kristi (Troy), Steven (Moira) and Scott (Jen), and will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Dylan, Skyler, T.J., Molly, Brandon, Hannah, Jacob, Joshua, Samantha, Derek, Micaiah, Hadassah, and great granddaughter-to-be, Noa Avery. He is also survived by his siblings, Arnold, Viola and husband, Bob; twin brother, Alvin; Art and wife Connie; Roland and wife Sandee; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lena, and his beloved granddaughter, Avery Christine.
A celebration of Cal's life will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday June 22, 2017 at Timberline Church Windsor, 360 Crossroads Blvd., Windsor, CO 80550. Private interment.
