Burlyn L. Richardson, age 85 of Johnstown, Colorado, died suddenly at his home on December 20, 2015. Burlyn was born in Denver on February 12, 1930, grew up in Brush, where he met and married his wife Nellie.
Burlyn was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie (1991); daughter, Vicky (2001), parents and four siblings.
Burlyn is survived by his loving partner, Lou Ann Fowler, Johnstown; sons, Mike Richardson, Loveland, Larry Richardson and Barb, Fort Collins; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren; brother, Dayton and sister, Bev.
Burlyn was a 23 year member of Loveland Elks Lodge #1051, 33 year member of Loyal Order of the Moose Loveland Lodge 484, 15 year member of Sons of the American Legion Post 4, Fort Collins and a longtime member of Teamsters Local 961.
Burlyn drove semi-trucks for over 30 years and accumulated over 2 million miles for Don Ward and Company Trucking, and won numerous safety awards. Burlyn was on the Larimer Sheriff Posse in the 1970's. Burlyn enjoyed camping, dancing and was always tinkering with one project or another. Burlyn volunteered his time in community projects including 19 years with Little Britches Rodeo.
Burlyn was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by many people. Contributions may be made in Burlyn's name to Loveland Elks Little Britches Rodeo, or to your favorite charity in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at First Christian Church, 2000 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, Fort Collins.
