Long time area resident, Bruce Boyd Fisher, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at his home at the age of 91.

Born to parents, King and Mary Fisher on April 3, 1925 in Buckeye, Colorado. He lived in the Fort Collins area and graduated from Cache le Poudre High School in 1943. He then worked as a general farm hand for two years performing duties required in the raising of hay, grain, row crops and livestock using a tractor and horse-drawn machinery. He broke horses to saddle and to harness and drove and maintained farm equipment.

Bruce was a WWII vet and discharged at the rank of Sargent in 1947. After the military, he hauled water for Friz Water Service and various odd jobs before being hired by the City of Fort Collins Water Department. Over the 32 years, Bruce went from meter reader to waterline supervisor. Bruce retired in April 1986 to spend time traveling with his wife, LaVilda and enjoying woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters and a daughter, Janet.
He is survived by his wife, LaVilda. They would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on January 31, 2017. He is also survived by two sons, Mike (Bonnie) and Steve (Darene); four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Timberline Church. A Graveside Service with Military Honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery.
