In Loving Memory of Brandon Ray Nelson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brandon Nelson, a beloved husband, father, brother, son and friend. Brandon passed away on November 28, 2024 at the age of 46, surrounded by his loving family.

Brandon was born to Larry and Esther (Cullip) Nelson on May 20th, 1978 in Sterling, CO. Brandon and twin brother Byron, were the youngest of 5 children and grew up on the family farm in Peetz, CO. Brandon earned a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University. While living in Fort Collins, he met the love of his life, Katie (Thero) Nelson. They were married on September 17th, 2009, and spent 23 wonderful years together. From the beginning, Katie and Brandon built their relationship around love and God and he blessed them with three beautiful children (Peyton, Aiden, and Paisley). Brandon's career as an estimating manager, led him to work on significant pipeline projects. He was also a very skilled carpenter and built 100's of houses and decks throughout his life. Brandon worked hard and loved even harder and this created lifelong friends. His colleagues remember him as a brilliant mind and a kind-hearted mentor who always had time to share his expertise.

Beyond his professional achievements, Brandon was a man of great integrity and warmth. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in camping and golfing. From childhood, he grew up loving God. He professed his love for God at the age of 12 and was baptized when he was 18. His love for God, formed him into the man we all grew to love and respect. He was a kind soul, with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He loved to talk to people and was the life of any gathering. He never met a stranger and you couldn't help but instantly fall in love with him. He was so full of life and that will continue on through his beautiful children.

Brandon is survived by his devoted wife, Katie; his children, Peyton, Aiden and Paisley. He also leaves behind his mother, Esther Nelson, sisters Paula (Jay) Poulignot, Shauna Carpenter, Tamra (Wayne) Ashburn and brother, Byron (Chandra) Nelson. He is preceded in death by his father, Larry Nelson.
