Bonnie Brundage Nail, age 86, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026.
Born in Oak Park, Illinois, on April 13, 1940, to the late Robert Brundage and Susan Duller, Bonnie grew
up and attended high school in Downers Grove, Illinois, before attending Drake University.
Bonnie dedicated her life to her family and home, proudly fulfilling her role as a loving wife and
supportive mother. She was united in marriage for 61 years to Harvey Richard Nail of Grangeville,
Idaho, who preceded her in death.
To know Bonnie was to know a bright, welcoming spirit—she was always friendly, quick with a warm
smile, possessed a wonderful sense of humor, and was entirely all heart. Giving generously of her time
and care to her community, Bonnie was also a dedicated volunteer for over 15 years at the Windsor
Senior Center in Windsor, Colorado.
Her passions brought immense joy to her life and to everyone around her. Bonnie had a boundless
love for animals of all kinds, spending countless years rescuing and caring for them. She found great
peace in her garden, absolutely adored playing Bingo, and was happiest in the kitchen, becoming
famous among family and friends for her exquisite apricot jam and award-winning chocolate chip
cookies.
Bonnie is survived by her sister, Suzette Wiese of Red Feather Lakes, Colorado; her brother, Bruce
Brundage of Larkspur, Colorado; her three daughters, Carey Owen of Maui, Hawaii, Coleen Matsumura
of Oahu, Hawaii, and Stacey Nail-Canedy of Driggs, Idaho; her beloved grandchildren, Casey Owen,
Kalysta Owen, Carley Matsumura, and Cody Matsumura; many loving nieces and nephews; and a wide
circle of dear friends.
The family will honor and celebrate Bonnie's life in a private gathering. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions in Bonnie's honor may be made to The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado at
www.wildanimalsanctuary.org.
