Listen to Obituary
Bob Miller, devout family man and avid golfer, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 19th, at the age of 74. His beloved wife, Kay, and two children, BJ and Tiffany, were by his side. During his brief, but valiant battle with cancer, Bob's caring spirit, love and humor never wavered; a true testament to his character. Bob is survived by wife Kay, son BJ, daughter Tiffany and sister Karen. Bob was born on February 8th, 1939, in Ada, Minnesota, to Evelyn and William Miller and raised on their family farm. Growing up, he was active in sports and theatre at Ada High School, from where he graduated in 1957. Following graduation, Bob attended Brown Broadcasting Institute and Lutheran Bible Institute. Bob's golden voice lent itself well to his first career in radio broadcasting, where his work ranged from hosting musical programs, to providing play-by-play for local and state-wide sporting broadcasts. Following the family's move to Colorado in 1981, Bob worked for Corporate Express, winning numerous accolades for his performance in sales and dedicated leadership. Bob retired in 2002 and could be found most days on the golf course, supporting local athletic events or traveling. Bob's travels were extensive, but the family's "little house" in St. George, Utah, was by far Bob's favorite destination. An avid sports fan, Bob was active in the CSU Ram Booster Club and attended virtually every home football and basketball game for over three decades. It was through this love of athletics Bob met some of his dearest friends. Additionally, Bob volunteered at Medical Center of the Rockies, and was a member at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Above all, Bob loved his family. Whether an event of Kay's at the hospital, Tiffany's at school, or BJ's on the athletic field, Bob was always present and proud. His humor and spirit will leave an indelible mark on all he knew. He will be greatly missed as a loving and supportive husband, devoted father and loyal friend. Memorial services will be held at 3pm on Friday, December 27th at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7755 Greenstone Trail.
