We are saddened to announce the passing of Billy Snyder, 77, of La Porte, CO after suffering complications from heart and kidney disease on August 21, 2023, in Fort Collins with his wife of 57 years, Karen Snyder, by his side.
Bill was a long-time resident of Northern Colorado, moving here as a child with his parents Henry and Effie Snyder from Resaca, Georgia.
Karen and Bill were married November 21, 1965; moved into their forever home in La Porte in 1977. There they raised their two sons, Philip, and Douglas. Mourned the passing of their son Philip in 1987 and welcomed a daughter in law, Dena and then 4 grandchildren from Douglas - Vausha, Ian, Calne, and Sophie.
Bill enjoyed camping and fishing with his family along with his extended family and friends! He and Karen also enjoyed going to concerts until hearing aids prevented him from enjoying the shows. Every holiday and birthday his family could always count on Karen and Bill to show up; even being early to visit with the hosts.
Mr. Snyder was a hard, loyal, and dependable employee. He began working at Bockman's Lumber Camp in Gould, CO as a teen and ended his career of 44 years at GCR Tires and Service in Fort Collins, CO.
He had many siblings; a few of them were Henrietta, Linda and Maryanne, Danny, Jimmy and Charlie.
Billy is preceded in death by his son, Philip Snyder. Parents, Henry and Effie Snyder. Mother in law Frances Thomas, father in law Edgar Brown. and niece Tammy Samuel
He is survived by his wife, Karen Snyder. Son, Doug Snyder (Dena Snyder) and grandchildren, Vausha, Ian, Calne and Sophie. Sisters in laws – Cindy Dyer (David Dyer), and Diana Mathias (Tony Mathias). Brothers in laws – Gerald Brown, Harold Brown, and Duane Brown (Geraldine Brown). Multiple nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held, 9am, Friday, August 25, 2023 at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
