Billy Jane Froeschle

Billy Jane Froeschle ("Jane") was born on May 26, 1934 in North Holston, Virginia. She was the second child of four daughters born to William Holmes and Virginia Louthen. Jane, always up for adventure, loved to hop into the passenger seat beside her father, a Virginia State Trooper, and make the rounds in his patrol car through the country roads surrounding her home town of Bristol, Virginia.

Jane, popular, outgoing and with a fantastic personality, was voted Head Cheerleader, Best Actress in her high school play, and on the Court of Miss Virginia High School. She graduated from Virginia High School in 1952 receiving a full scholarship to attend Sullins Junior College where she majored in Art. After graduating from Sullins in 1954, Jane received a scholarship to Mary Washington University which she attended from 1954 to 1956 majoring in Art.

In 1956, Jane began her professional career as an Assistant to the Curator at the Baltimore Museum of Art where she organized art exhibitions and appeared on several occasions in the Baltimore Sun and other newspapers as an up and coming team member of the well-respected museum staff.

Also, in 1956, Jane's life took a dramatic turn to romance. On a blind date for a museum gala arranged by a co-worker, Jane met her beloved husband, James ("Jim') Edgar Froeschle, who was then an Intern at John Hopkins University. As they danced the night away at the museum gala, Jim realized that he had found the woman of his dreams. Jane and Jim wed later that year and embarked on their journey through a loving 59 years of marriage.

Jane and Jim had three children, Nina, Amy and James. As a family, they enjoyed family barbecues, car trips throughout the United States, drive-in movies and shared many laughs along the way. Jane worked as a homemaker providing a loving home for her family with delicious home cooked meals to be remembered. She also worked as the Office Manager of her husband's medical practice.

Jane was a member of the Doctors Wives' League of Fort Collins, the Fort Collins Symphony Women's League and the First United Methodist Church of Fort Collins. Jane always cherished her pets and had many dogs and cats throughout her life, including her current and beloved Fox Terrier, "Molly." She was an avid Bronco and Rockies' fan, a wonderful human being and a deeply loved mother, wife and humanitarian. Jane will be missed and loved forever by her family and friends.

Jane passed away on December 24, 2015 at her home in Fort Collins surrounded by her family.

Memorial Services celebrating Jane's life will be on January 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Collins located at 1005 Stover St, Fort Collins. A luncheon reception at the church will follow her memorial service.
