Billy Gene Delehoy
July 9, 1939 - May 20, 2023
Billy Gene Delehoy was born at the family home on the Cache La Poudre river in Bellvue, Colorado to Raymond Elemore and Joy Lucille (Maggart) Delehoy, July 9, 1939. He lived there with his older brother, Raymond Earl, sister, Doris Lucille and in 1943, welcomed brother Lewis Elemore. In 1948, Raymond had finished building the house on North Shields Street and the the family moved from Maple Street where baby sister, Joann Pearl was born, into their new home where Bill lived his entire life.
Bill attended CacheLaPoudre Elementary, Junior High and High School until 1957. He owned Bill Delehoy painting for many years, driving his white Ford Econoline van with "Here Comes Bill" on the front hood. Later, he went into the antique business with his parents. They opened Bell Tower Antiques and traveled around the Midwest "antiquing". When the antique business slowed, Bill traveled doing antique shows. Throughout his life he enjoyed researching family genealogy. He traced his ancestry back many generations as far as the 1600's and before. He wrote letters and kept in touch with many relatives.
Bill loved traveling. He took his parents, sisters and nieces on many trips to meet and visit with his mother's family in Missouri, Montana and southeastern Colorado. Every year they took the trip to the western slope to get peaches and many Sundays after church, drove around Horsetooth, Rist Canyon, or up the Poudre Canyon.
Bill never married but loved and was loved by his family. He was preceded by his parents, Raymond and Joy, brothers, Raymond, Arnold and Lewis; sister, Doris and her husband, Charles Hannah; nephew, Raymond Earl Delehoy II, niece, Beverly (Groves), nephew, Sammy Hannah, and great-niece, Dorianne (Norton)Tucker. He is survived by Betty Delehoy (widow, Raymond Earl), sister Joann and husband Jack Tamlin; 8 nephews and nieces; Deborah (Brian) Allison, William Hannah, Cindy Benevidez, David Delehoy, Allen (Lori) Delehoy, Ron Tamlin, Joyleyn (Wayne) Achziger, Tammy (AJ) Bork; and to date, 47 great, great-great and great-great-great nephews and nieces.
Bill did not want a funeral service. The family will have a private celebration of his life.
