Beverly J Bainer (Bev), 84, died at Columbine West on May 16, 2017 surrounded by her family.
She was born November 12, 1932 living in Horace, North Dakota, to Ernst Norman and Mabel Thoen. She graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1951. Beverly married the love of her life Robert Bainer on November 12, 1957 in Fort Collins at the American Lutheran Church. They raised four children: Carol, Deborah, Kevin, and Keith.
During her young childhood she lived in North Dakota. Her family moved to Fort Collins in the mid-1940s. Bob and Bev lived in many different places throughout his career with Western Electric, finally settling back in Fort Collins to be closer to family in 1988 as a temporary retirement location, while they tried to figure out a retirement location between the western slope of Colorado or the desert Arizona, and the location of the compromise remained Fort Collins, the place they met back in the fifties.
Bev was a member of American Lutheran Church, which later became Trinity Lutheran Church. She volunteered in the office for many years helping with bulletins, sending birthday cards to members, and helping with phone calls asking for ushers.
Bev will be especially remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. It was her joy to knit afghans for all her loved ones. She made a special Christmas stocking for each of her grandchildren.
Survivors include Carol Chaffee, Kevin (Helene) Bainer, Keith (Diane) Bainer, daughter in-law Carol Wild. Her in laws- Florence Thoen, Joan Wells, Harry Bainer are the remainder of her generation. She had eight grandchildren, Melissa Hayes (Matt), Christina Travis (Morgan), Breanna Winter (Jason), Cory Osborne, Joey Bainer, Holly Brooks (Mike), Brandon Bainer, and Luke Bainer. She had seven Great Grandchildren, Matti, Maci, Jackson, Marli, Aspen, Logan and Riley. Bev was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Mabel, her husband Bob, daughter Deborah, brother Kurt, sister Inez(Harvey), and grandson Mitchell.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran, 301 Stuart Street, Forth Collins, on May 19, 2017. Interment will be at Grand View Cemetery, relatives and friends are welcome
