Beverly Blehm, life-long resident of Fort Collins, fell asleep in Jesus on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, following a stroke and a short stay at hospice. She was 91 years young. Beverly was born August 10, 1932, to Conrad and Kathryn (Maul) Troudt. She was a graduate of Fort Collins High School, and was working in the Larimer County Clerk's office, when she met a handsome young man who came in to buy license plates and asked her out on a date. Beverly married Olin Blehm in the summer of 1953, and they were blessed with 60 years of marriage, before Olin passed in 2013.
Beverly was the youngest of six children, and as the baby of the family, never felt the sting of the Great Depression, enjoying piano lessons, her own bike (which she rode without using the handlebars) and new clothes for school and special occasions (compliments of her generous oldest sister). She played the organ for the Plymouth Congregational church as a young adult, became a meticulous homemaker, and proficient secretary, working for a brief time for Public Service Company of Colorado, and twenty-plus years at Colorado State University, in the College of Business. She was fabulous at knitting, and her family and close friends have beautiful Christmas stockings, blankets, sweaters, etc., to remember her by. Beverly also loved to travel, taking a trip to Germany with their favorite Dutch hop band, and to play cards with their "card-playing buddies".
She was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and their spouses. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristy and Sam Eddy of Tomball, Texas, and Connie and John Jesser of Fort Collins; six grandchildren, Brien and Tracy, Lindsee and Kevyn Eddy of the Houston area, and Cate and Dick Zeigler, Austin and Mari, and Jillian Jesser of Fort Collins; great grandchildren and little lights of her life, Graham and Hadley Zeigler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, January 6, 1:00 p.m., at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 West Olive, Fort Collins, CO 80524. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Beverly, contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice or Meals on Wheels of Fort Collins, in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
