Betty Jean Rodgers, 80, of Fort Collins died Oct. 14, 2007, at McKee Medical Center Hospice of Larimer County Unit in Loveland. Mrs. Rodgers was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Plainville, Minn., to Jacob Hemler and Violet Briskey Hemler. Betty married L.D. Rodgers in 1979 in Indianapolis, Ind. Betty lived most of her life in Commerce City. She was a cook in Commerce City and Indiana. Betty lived the past three years in Fort Collins, moving from Cherokee, Iowa. She loved plants, flowers, her dogs and cats, and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her six children, Jim Drapeau of Commerce City, Linda Kelso of Kansas City, Mo., Audrey Hamby of Fort Collins, Jo Martin of Russell Springs, Ky., Calvin Pulfrey of Fort Collins and Katherine Malcolm of Cherokee, Iowa; three brothers, LeRoy Sorenson of Florida, Duane Sorenson of Sioux City, Iowa, and Roger Hemler of Portage, Wis.; two sisters, Donna Chase of Sioux City, Iowa, and Jackie Cocherell of Amery, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Adams of Fort Collins; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Preceding Betty in death are her parents, husband and a son, Irvin Pulfrey Jr. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Roland Miller will officiate at the service. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, Ind.
