Betty Lujan, 87, of Fort Collins passed away peacefully on July 17, 2010. Betty was born January 7, 1923 in Mora, New Mexico to parents, Jose Muniz and Lionirez Chavez. Betty and Marcos Lujan were married on March 25, 1950 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, shortly after they moved their family to Fort Collins, Colorado. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughters, Angie Salas, Dora Mercado and Lilly Aragon; brother, Emilio Chavez; step-father, Julian Martinez; grandsons, Thedor Mercado and Tudy Martinez; and great-grandson, Carlos Ortega. She is survived by her daughters, Rosie V. Mercado of Fort Collins, Lucy Cota Primitivo of Salaices, Mexico; Son, Mark Anthony Lujan Marisol of Fort Collins; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren and compadre, Bibian Mercado. Betty was a factory worker and worked on the assembly line. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and fishing and was member of the Los Ancianos Unidos. She loved her family and in return was also much loved. She was blessed to have had 5 generations and her memory will live in their hearts forever. Viewing will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for those who wish to view Betty at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Rosary will be Thursday at 9:00 a.m., and Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
