Betty Jo Elder died January 27, 2012 at Columbine West Skilled Nursing Facility. Betty was born November 21, 1932 to Leslie and Nellie Groves Lambert in Greeley Colorado.
Betty spent her younger years in the Greeley area before the Lambert family moved to Hereford Colorado in 1948 where they farmed. At a community dance Betty met her future husband Clayton Elder. Clayton and Betty were married November 5, 1950. Betty was a very loving wife, mother & grandmother as well as being a caring & compassionate friend. Her grandchildren will always remember the wonderful times they spent with their grandparents running their own soda fountain, cooking, baking pies & spending endless hours playing.
She is survived by her husband Clayton, one brother, Bill Janie Lambert, Sons, Kevin Paula Elder, Bryan Kay Elder & daughter Kim Loren Martin. She is also survived by a granddaughter Ashley Zach Reynolds, & grandsons, Shane Kelly Elder, Drew Martin, Clayton & James Elder & three great-grandchildren Chase & Sage Elder & Elizabeth Reynolds & numerous nieces & nephews who she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her son Gary & parents, Leslie & Nellie Lambert & sister, Lois Jean.
We would like to express our appreciation to the entire staff from Columbine West Nursing home & Pathways Hospice for the care, attention and support you have provided to our mother and our family.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Faith United Church of Christ, 1020 Walnut St., Windsor, CO. Pastor Fred Evenson will officiate at the service.
