Betty Margaret Hoffman died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, in Columbine West Hospice after a three-year brave battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Fort Collins to Henry and Pauline Blehm. She was proud of her German heritage and left school as a young girl to help her family in farming. She worked at Sedar Plastics, then Teledyne Water Pik until retirement. She married William E. Hoffman Sr. on Aug. 5, 1950. They were married 52 years and had two sons, William E. Jr. and Robert E. She enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, gardening and was an excellent bowler. She bowled in leagues for Teledyne Water Pik for years. She enjoyed cooking and cooked for crews working in Cowdry for her nephew, Doug Hoffman, at his ranch. She, her husband and her son, Bob, loved taking vacations to Las Vegas, especially playing Keno. She loved being a housewife and taking care of her family. She is survived by sons, Robert and William and his wife, Cathy; sister, Bonnie Witte; several nephews and one niece. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister; and two brothers. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Foothills Gateway or Hospice. A special thanks to Columbine West Care Center, Hospice and all staff that helped with her care. And thanks to friends and family that have helped through this trying time. Those who desire may view Mrs. Hoffman on Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
