Betty Harding

Betty Lee Harding joined her eternal family on July 9, 2007, after an extended illness. Betty was born June 25, 1923, in Goodland, Kan. Her parents were Dave and Leona Laughlin. Betty married Warren G. Harding on Jan. 20, 1944. Betty was an office manager for the Division of Water Resources Office in Stockton, Kan., for a number of years. After her husband's death, Betty moved to Fort Collins in 1982. Betty was a very social and independent person who loved to travel and always found ways to serve her family, friends and community. Throughout her life Betty volunteered for church and various community organizations. After moving to Fort Collins, she continued to serve others through the S.A.I.N.T. program transportation for disabled people, Meals on Wheels, and Beginning Experience support group for divorced and widowed people, as well as an active interest in the Namaqua Center. Betty found great joy in traveling with her grandchildren and delighted in every moment with her great-grandchildren. Betty is survived by her son, Dave Harding of WaKeeney, Kan.; daughter, Lee Ann Brunson and husband, Ken of Pratt, Kan.; and daughter, Kay Dechairo and husband Roger of Fort Collins; and brother, Jim Laughlin of Danville, Kentucky. Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive her. Her husband; parents; a brother, William Laughlin; and a sister, Patty Martin, precede Betty in death. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland, Kan. Burial will be at the Goodland Cemetery. Viewing will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church.
