Listen to Obituary
Betty A. Carlson passed away unexpectedly at her home in Fort Collins on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

Betty was born on July 10, 1929 in Cheyenne, WY to George and Katherine Hofferber. She graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1947 and worked at the local bank for a few years.

Betty married the love of her life, Bud Carlson, on December 23, 1950 in Cheyenne, WY. She went with Bud to Honolulu, Hawaii while he was stationed there with the Navy. They moved back to Cheyenne, WY and stayed there until Bud's job eventually brought them to Fort Collins in 1959 where Betty raised their two children, Todd and Susan. After her children were grown, Betty did the books at Mountain States News for many years.

Betty was a kind and loving wife and mother who was "sharp as a tack" up to the very end. Her enormous love of flowers and planting was always such an enjoyable part of her life. Betty and her daughter, Susan, loved shopping for flowers and planting them every Spring.

Betty also enjoyed spending time down in Mesa, Arizona. She and Bud were true snow birds spending six months out of the year down there and the people at the "Village of the Apache Wells" became their long lasting friends.

She is survived by her son Todd Carlson and his wife, Betty and their son Phillip of Severance; and her daughter Susan Urban and her husband Kelly and their daughter Courtney of Fort Collins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Bud and her sister, Donna Wilson.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place sometime in the future. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins CO, 80524. Visit bohlenderfuneralchapel.com to leave condolences for the family.
