Betty L. Anderson passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2010 after a long battle with Lymphoma. Betty was born in Salt Lake City, UT on July 11, 1925 to Jean Pierre and Helen Echegon. Shortly after Betty was born, the family moved to Elko, NV where her father worked as an engineer for the Western Pacific Railroad. Betty spent her early years in grade school and high school in Elko. She worked for a bank for a few years, and then took her wings by going to her cousin's in Minneapolis. There she met Raymond. They were married in Elko in 1952. They spent the next few years in Bozeman, MT, Minneapolis, MN and Madison, WI while Ray went to graduate school. In 1959 they moved to Fort Collins, where Ray worked for the Economic Research Services, USDA in the Ag Econ Department at CSU. Betty loved to travel and went to Europe, Australia and the South Sea Islands several times. She was accomplished at needlepoint and spent many years with her needle work on various projects. Betty was involved in the CSU Women's Association. She enjoyed raising her children, flowers, cooking and going to the symphony. She is survived by her husband, Raymond of Fort Collins; sister, Janet Strickland of Elko, NV; sons, Geoffrey and wife, Joyce of Littleton, CO, and Jeremy and wife, Jamie of Highlands Ranch, CO, and daughter, Jennifer of Fort Collins. Betty had 4 grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Service will be held, Friday, 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 531 S. College. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at Grandview Cemetery. Rev. Jon Heeringa will officiate at the service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice or C.S.U. Women's Association, in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
