Bette Yeider

Bette Yeider went to be with her lord on March 26, 2005. Bette was born Aug. 20, 1925, to Mary and Leroy Holdridge in Michigan. She married the Rev. Clifford Hart and served with him in Presbyterian churches in Wilson Creek, Wash., and Dunbar, Neb. They moved to Fort Collins in 1971 and served in various capacities at the First Presbyterian Church. Bette's life was her family and serving the Lord. She is survived by Leo Yeider, a special friend, companion and husband for the past nine years. She also is survived by four of her six children, Bette Fundenberger of Kansas City, Clifford Herb Hart Jr. of Fort Collins, Joe Hart of Columbus, Ind., and Tom Hart of Fort Myers, Fla.; a son-in-law, Duane Easterling of Oregon; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ellen Grey of Tecumseh, Mich. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Easterling; her first husband, the Rev. Clifford Hart; her parents; two brothers; and a son, David, who died at birth. After moving to Fort Collins, Bette worked for 20 years at CSU as a publications specialist. She also worked as a volunteer receptionist at the First Presbyterian Church and was very active in the parish program there. Bette was a great cook and baker and even enjoyed potluck dinners. She was a seamstress and worked for a time in a shirt factory. She sewed many clothes for her family and altered many prom dresses and wedding gowns over the years. She also helped with many 4-H projects for her children and grandchildren. Bette also loved gardening, canning and freezing. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hospice at McKee Medical Center or the Mission Fund Five at First Presbyterian Church in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, CO 80524. A celebration of life memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, 531 S. College Ave.
