Bernadette Christine Affa

Bernadette C. "Bonnie" (Groller) Affa, 78 of Fort Collins, CO., passed away peacefully April 8, 2024 with her children by her side. Bernadette was born in Allentown, PA July 6, 1945 to Joseph J. and Mary H. (Gerencser) Groller. Bernadette graduated from Central Catholic High School in Allentown PA.

Bernadette worked as a Bank Teller for Merchants Bank and eventually became a Human Resources Administrator for the Frito Lay and McDonalds corporations. She had an amazing penchant and love for all things finance and bookkeeping. She helped open one of the first Wal-Mart stores in the Ft. Collins area and continued to work for them in various roles over 36
years.

Bernadette was married to the love of her life Ernest M. Affa for over 41 years before his passing in 2007. They created a wonderful life and family together. Being Ernest's wife, mother to their two children and 'Nonna" to her grandchildren were the roles that brought her the most joy. Bernadette made a point to celebrate and be with her grandchildren any chance she had. She was the matriarch of a wonderful family and will be greatly missed.

Bernadette was someone you could always count on and confide in for anything. She always held loved ones close and valued relationship with family and friends. Bernadette loved to watch sports and was an avid Rockies and Broncos fan. She also had an affinity for watching the Game Show Network. She was an excellent cook and shared her love through her cooking.

The time we shared with her was a gift and will live forever in our hearts. Until we meet again. Ti Amo.

Survivors: Bernadette is survived by her son Dean Affa: granddaughters Madison and Abigail; her daughter Coriann Batz, son-in-law Heath and grandsons Kiefer and Brody; brother Joseph J. Groller, and his wife Kris; brother-in-law Trent Conelias; brother-in-law Sonny Affa and his wife Jane. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her husband Ernest M. Affa; sister Joanne T. Conelias; and nephew Michael J. Conelias.

The Funeral Mass will be held 10 am, Friday, April 19, 2024 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 5450 S. Lemay Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80525.
