Benjamin Sanchez

Benjamin F. Sanchez, 82, of Fort Collins, died May 11, 2007, at the Hospice Unit at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. Mr. Sanchez was born July 24, 1924, in Espanola, N.M., to Frank Sanchez and Mary Gallegos Sanchez. Ben married Beatrice M. Guerrero on Oct. 27, 1972, in Fort Collins. He lived most of his life in Fort Collins. Ben was a laborer in construction and enjoyed gardening, and going for walks. Ben loved the Denver Broncos and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife, Beatrice Sanchez of Fort Collins; three sons, Ben Russell Sanchez of Loveland, Danny Anna Sanchez of Fort Collins, and Robert Emily Branch of Fort Collins; four daughters, Gloria Branch Ron Mannella of Fort Collins, Annette David Ortiz of Windsor, Lisa Sanchez of Fort Collins, and Rosemary Terry of Adelanto, Calif.; two brothers, Frank and Joe Sanchez both of Fort Collins; three sisters, Mary Gallegos of Laporte, Bernice Winterowd of Denver, and Lillian Robbins of Ribly, Calif., 17 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Sanchez is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Lori Sanchez; a sister, Theresa Taylor; a great-niece, Alyssa Taylor, and a great-nephew, Michael Taylor. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Both services will be at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Father Damien de la Cruz, C.R. will officiate.
