Benjamin Chavez, 91, of Windsor, died April 1, 2018 at McKee Medical Center.
Mr. Chavez was born November 24, 1926 in Garita, NM to Pablo and Lucia "Lucero" Chavez.
Mr Chavez joined the Army on February 15, 1945. He served in World War II in the Philippines and Korea. Ben was honorably discharged in 1947.
Ben married Beatrice Herrera in 1952 in Windsor CO.
Ben worked for 38 years at Cactus Hill Farm, north of Windsor. When he retired, he went to work part-time at Berthoud Cemetery in Berthoud CO.
Ben enjoyed horses, working on the farm and being with family.
Survivors include son Tony (Helen) Chavez of Sun Tan Valley, AZ; daughters, Debbie (Herman) Pacheco of Fort Collins and Laura Guzman (David Duvall) of Longmont. Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding Ben in death is his loving wife Beatrice, who he missed dearly.
Viewing will be Monday, 9am to 4pm, and a Rosary will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Home, 121 W Olive St Fort Collins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Windsor on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, Fort Collins.
