Barbara Walters

Barbara J. Walters, 73, of Loveland, died Aug. 18, 2007, at a Loveland nursing home. Barbara was born in Fort Collins, July 10, 1934, to Carl and Alberta Knipple. She lived all her life in Fort Collins. Barbara met her husband, John R. Walters, in Cheyenne, Wyo., while he was stationed in Cheyenne, with the U.S. Air Force. John and Barbara were then married on June 3, 1952, in Fort Collins. For 25 years, she was a cook at Colorado State University. Her priority in her life was her husband, children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors are her three sons, John R. and his wife, Laura Walters, Mike and his wife Judy Walters, Kirk and his wife, Suzanne Walters; her mother, Alberta Knipple; a sister, Cathy; two brothers, Larry and his wife Pat and Ron and his wife Barbara; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
