Listen to Obituary
On December 29, 2016 Barbara Ann DenBesten lost her battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at McKee Pathways Hospice Center in Loveland, CO. Barb entered this world on November 24, 1953 the fifth child of Arthur and Ruth (Scholten) Hasch in Pipestone, MN. She attended school in Pipestone until her marriage to Del DenBesten. As a military family they lived in a few different places until settling in the Ft. Collins, CO area. Barb worked at TeleDyne (WaterPik) for 30 years until her job was outsourced. She was widowed at a young age and raised her two teenaged children by herself. Her son, Jamie lives in Lyman, WY. Her daughter, Dina (Cody) Austin and grandchildren, Logan and Sadie live in Spring Creek, NV. Barb loved car racing, as both her children competed in drag racing, camping, boating, traveling, cooking & reading. Her love of cooking came naturally as her parents ran a café for a number of years. She was instrumental in putting together a family cookbook from recipes handed down from relatives. "The recipe that is not shared with others will soon be forgotten, but when it is shared, it will be enjoyed by future generations." Her travels took her & Larry to many places, some of her favorites were Las Vegas, Belize, Flaming Gorge & anywhere they could camp & boat. Her favorite color was purple & her favorite flowers were purple & orange pansies which she planted every spring.

Surviving her are her partner of 20+ years, Larry Richardson; son Jamie; daughter Dina (Cody); & grandchildren, Logan & Sadie. Also surviving here are her brothers: Gary (Darlene) Hasch, Prior Lake, MN; Arnold (Mary) Hasch, St. Joseph, MN; Dale (Joyce) Hasch, Avon, MN; & a sister Janet (George) Boeve, Rapid City, SD; and many nieces & nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents & 2 brothers.

Special thanks to her special friends, Angie, Bonnie & Misty for all the care & support you gave Barb & Larry these last few months.

Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

"When the golden Sun is sinking & the Earth no longer trod, May Your name then be written in the Autograph of God."
