Barbara Ann Finley Walters, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, in her home in Fort Collins, Colorado- with her children and friends by her side. She had the most spectacular Northern Lights send-off, a fitting farewell for a woman who filled every space she entered with color, warmth and joy.
Barb was born to Howard and Dorthy Finley in Lockport, NY on May 20, 1945. Barb was the youngest of 4 children. She graduated high school from an all-girls Catholic school in 1964 before continuing her college education in Wyoming later in her life. On May 22, 1964, she married the love of her life, Lee Roy Walters, who survives her. They moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1974. Together they built a life rich in love and laughter, full of unforgettable memories.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Barb is survived by her three children: Jeff Walters (Beth), Leann Walters and Craig Walters (Michelle). She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren- Kalie Walters (Matt Jordan), Stefanie Atkinson (Chris), Justin Walters (Kenzi), Sean Walters, Weston Walters, Courtland Hacker (Caroline) and Miekenzie Rasmussen (Christian)- and a joyful great-grandmother also known as Grandma Bunny to Kaiya, Olive, Mia, Carson, Coen, Melissa and Cruz: also survived by her brothers Don and Gary.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Dorthy, along with her brother, Robert. Barb dedicated more than four decades of her life to caring for others, working in food service at PVH before serving as the activities director at PVH and Spring Creek Nursing Home. Her
work brought comfort, companionship, and happiness to countless people, and her presence was always a bright spot in the lives of those she served.
Standing at just 4'11", Barb was a true firecracker- spirited, lively and impossible to overlook. She lit up every room she walked into and had a gift for making friends wherever she went. She never met a stranger. She opened her heart and her home to everyone, creating a sense of
belonging and joy that defined her life.
She loved gambling, her friends, lemon drop martinis, mowing her lawn, and above all her family. She could capture everyone's attention with her humor, making her unforgettable to all who knew her.
A celebration of Barb's life will be held on December 13, 2025 from11:00 am to 1:00 pm at C.B. POTTS at The Colindale Golf Course, 1441 East Horsetooth Road, Fort Collins, Colorado. All who loved her are welcome to join in honoring her remarkable life.
Barb's spark, kindness and laughter will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
