Listen to Obituary
Ausencio Perez passed peacefully away on May 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and friend after a gradual decline in health.

He was born and raised in Brush, Colorado to Jesus and Teodosia Perez. Like his father and mother, he enjoyed farming, gardening and landscaping. He attended Colorado State University and worked with the City of Loveland. Ausencio volunteered in his children's schools, tutored youth, engaged in community service and advocated for the rights of underrepresented populations. He was known for his wonderful cooking, especially his tamales around the holidays. His family loved receiving the creative piñatas he custom made for each child. When he walked or marched for a cause he believed in, he carried his walking stick. He was a jack-of-all-trades, making walking sticks, creating imaginative spaces in his yard, designing play spaces for the children and barbequing. He enjoyed watching, cheering and celebrating the Broncos. His family was the most important part of his life. He asks that each of you embrace and cherish your family's love.

Ausencio is survived by his Amor de Vida, Rosalie Nededog de Perez, of 36 years, his son, Mario (Erin) and daughter, Martina, as well as his precious grandchildren Mariah, Landon, Owen and Kellen Perez. His loving family also includes his mother Teodosia and his siblings and in laws, Elpidia, Maria, Richard, Ruben, Jesse, Rudy (Karyn), Gloria (Ramon) Elder, and Rosa. He cherished his Godchildren Arianna George (niece) and Lowell Holt. He also happily served as a father and grandfather figure for Sheree Cozad (Orlando, Mercedes, and Marcus) and Renee Schindel. He loved all his nieces and nephews, Tina, Tera, and Sera Perez, Casey and Briana Elder, Bethany and Issac Lucero, Desideria Nededog Lucero, Elijah George, Jasmine and Diego Astudillo, Malania Palardy, Megan Roberts (Richard Lozano), Stacey Astudillo, and Brandon and Paz Roberts. Ausencio enjoyed teasing his mother in law, June Nededog, as well as cooking and laughing with his in laws, Arlene Nededog and Jody Lucero, Patricia Nededog, Juan Nededog, Naomi and Alex Astudillo.

He will be joining his father Jesus Perez in heaven, and meeting his father in law Juan Nededog for the first time. His beloved pet cat Oso will be there to greet him too.
