Ashley Ann Samen

Ashley Samen, born June 23, 1988, passed away on August 22, 2026, at the age of 38.

Ashley was the beloved daughter of David K. Samen Jr. and Lisa (Donegan) Samen. She was a sister to Brandi (Travis) Humphrey and David K. Samen III (Keila Koellner).

Above all, Ashley was a mother. She leaves behind her three children, Jace, 15, Caylee, 11, and Zayden, 5. They were an important part of her life, and they will carry a piece of their mother with them always.

Ashley was deeply loved by her family, and her passing leaves a space that cannot be filled. Her life was more than the circumstances of her death or the struggles she may have faced. She was a daughter, a mother, a sister, a granddaughter, a niece, and a person whose life mattered. She was loved, and she will be remembered.

Ashley was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Joan Donegan; her uncles, John Donegan and Bill Donegan; her paternal grandparents, David Samen Sr. and Florence Samen; and her paternal family members Daniel Samen, Michael Samen, and Nina Samen-Gimmler.

Those who loved Ashley will remember the moments that made her uniquely Ashley—the laughter, memories, stories, and pieces of her personality that remain with the people who knew her best.

While her family grieves a life that ended far too soon, they pray that Ashley has found peace and that those who loved her will find comfort in one another and in the memories they shared with her.

Ashley will not be remembered simply for how her story ended. She will be remembered for having lived, for having loved, and for being loved.

A private family memorial is planned to honor Ashley.
