Antonette (Toni) Robeck Brownhill, age 80, peacefully passed away on October 26, 2026. Toni was born on September 29, 1946, in Langdon, ND, the daughter of Ralph and Mary Frances (Backes) Robeck. She attended Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, IA, and college at St. Cloud State College in St. Cloud, MN. She had a lifelong thirst for knowledge and later went back to finish her degree at Colorado State University, earning a bachelor’s in Anthropology with a minor in Spanish.
On November 8, 1968, she married Jim Brownhill. Their adventures began soon after the wedding, with a short stay in New Orleans. Jim’s Army service then took them to Germany for three years. In 1972, they settled in Fort Collins, CO, where they would raise their family for the next 18 years. In 1990, their next adventure came when they moved to Manistique, MI. In 1993, they moved to Coopersburg, PA, where they lived for the next 20 years. After Jim’s retirement in 2013, they returned to Colorado and settled in Windsor, where she lived the rest of her life.
Toni always had the most giving spirit. While raising her family, which she always considered her most important job, she spent untold hours volunteering in her communities. She had leadership roles in the Parent Teacher Associations of her children’s schools. She was fluent in Spanish and used that gift volunteering to help native Spanish speakers study and pass their citizenship tests. She was an avid reader, and her love of reading led her to volunteer in her local libraries. She gave her time not for recognition, but out of her love for people and her communities.
Toni loved gardening and could often be found tending to her numerous flower beds. Lilacs and irises were her favorites. She also enjoyed quilting and making quilts to celebrate special occasions for her family. Toni will be remembered for her perpetual optimism, her generosity, her intelligence, her love of books, and most importantly, her fierce love for her family.
Toni is survived by Jim, her husband of nearly 58 years; her children, Jason (Jen), Ryan (Pam), and Kate (Shawn Macfarlan); her grandchildren, Lexi (Austin Gates), Jackson, Jordan, Jadyn, James, Bryn, Natalie, and Haven; her brother Mike Robeck (Nicole); and her beloved dogs, Duffy and Brodie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at Generation Memory Care for their loving care of Toni over the last year.
