Anthony "Tony" Maurice Demery, 31, of Fort Collins, died November 4, 2009 at a local hospital. Mr. Demery was born July 2, 1978 in Colorado Springs to Patrick and Carla. Tony married Dylan Hirschlieb on June 24, 2005 in Tulum, Mexico. Tony grew up in Colorado Springs and moved to Fort Collins about nine years ago. He worked outdoors. He loved his dogs, all sports, camping, fishing and travel. He cherished time spent with family and friends. He will be most remembered for his smile, kind eyes and gentle soul. He was nominated to the McDonalds All American Basketball Team 1996. His moves on the court will be remembered by all who saw him play. Basketball was a source of strength and joy for him throughout his life. Survivors include his wife, Dylan Demery; dogs, Cairo and Georgia; brothers, Chris and Emilio; mother, Carla; father, Pat; nephew, Davin; niece Kiara; in-laws, Terry and Dianne; Rachel and JP; Angie and Steve; Anna, Christian, and Bethany. Preceding Tony in death is his nephew, Myles Jackson Gonzales. A Memorial Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Tony Ausborne will officiate the service. A Celebration of Life will take place immediately follow the service at the Demery home.
