Anne Marie Holbrook

Anne Marie Holbrook (Née Marchand) age 84 born in Grosse Pointe, MI on August 25, 1937 to George "Jake" Aloysius Marchand and Magdalen Emma Marchand (née Peters) passed away in Fort Collins Colorado on September 16th 2021. Survived by Gerald William Holbrook, her high school sweetheart, they recently celebrated 63 years of marriage. Preceded in death by daughter Donna Marie Holbrook and survived by five children, Douglas Holbrook, Debra Schneider, David Holbrook, Daniel Holbrook and Dianne Köhler, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Family was important to her and she loved spending time with them. She was a caring and good friend to those she met. She was active in the Roman Catholic Church helping to organize pre-school programs at several parishes in Michigan and Columbia, TN. She taught second grade for several years and later she was an entrepreneur who ran her own business. She liked playing cards, board and word games. She enjoyed learning new crafts and especially loved quilting. Anne loved being in her garden and enjoyed her flowers. She enjoyed watching the birds as she sat on the porch in the evening. She was an avid cake baker and created beautiful wedding cakes. She enjoyed singing and was involved in the Sweet Adelines. She loved to learn about other cultures and was active in Youth for Understanding for many years in St. Clair, Michigan; helping to place and also hosted students from around the world.
