Anne Kane Hansen, 94, of Fort Collins, died December 21, 2011, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Anne was born on November 2, 1917, in Benson, Minnesota, to Helen "Hoban" Kane and Charles L. Kane. She graduated from the College of St. Theresa in Winona, Minnesota in 1939 and then began teaching English and Spanish in high schools in Minnesota. During World War II she served in the USO. She married Steven Erling Hansen on August 17, 1950, and moved to Parshall, North Dakota, where they had six children: George Hansen, now of New Jersey; Tom Hansen, of Fort Collins; Paul Hansen, deceased, survived by his wife Jeannette of Louisville; Helen Shonk, wife of Rick Shonk, of Ohio; Florence Landblom, wife of Jerry Landblom, of Longmont; and Cathy Hansen, of Ohio. Anne, Steven, and children moved to Longmont, Colorado in 1967, and in 1968 they moved to Fort Collins. Anne was active in Catholic religious groups and was known for her great faith and interest in the Catholic contemplative tradition. Preceding Anne in death are her husband Steven, sister Mary Ellen Frundt, brother Michael Kane, and son Paul. Grandchildren include Joseph Hansen, Suzanne Brittain, Stephen Brittain, Claire Brittain, Stephanie Landblom, Brian Landblom, and Emily Landblom. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the School Sisters of Notre Dame in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
