Ann M. Milton, 90, of Laporte, died July 30, 2017. Ann was born December 19, 1926 in New York, NY to William Laurence Whittemore and Ivy Lorna Jervis Whittemore. Ann married Oliver M. Milton and they had one son, Eric.
Growing up the daughter of a doctor and a painter, Ann developed a love for animals early in her childhood. Later on in life, as she traveled around the world, this love blossomed into a painting career, ranging from portraits, to family pets, to animals in the wild. She was a longtime member of the Society of Animal Artists, painting what inspired her on her travels, and an avid photographer, especially of her family and the animals that inspired her artwork.
Ann was a member of a local hiking group for more than 20 years, tracing trails, sometimes for miles, in northeastern Colorado with other group members. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her family. A loving mother and grandmother, Ann helped her grandchildren and children whenever she could, especially with school, college and personal growth.
Mrs. Milton is survived by her son Eric, and his wife Veronica, of Centennial, CO; and her grandchildren Sam, Sydney and Andrew. Preceding Ann in death are her parents, Laurence and Lorna; and her husband, Oliver.
A Private Family Service will be held for Mrs. Milton. Friends may send condolences to the family at bohlenderfuneralchapel.com.
