Anita "Annie" Romero won her battle with a series of brain bleeds On Wednesday October 29, 2014. Her prize? A place in God's heavenly kingdom. She joined her loving husband of 50 years, George Sr. and her youngest son Ernie in heaven, who preceded her in death. At the time of her death, Annie was surrounded by the warmth, love, and tears of her dear children and grandchildren. Annie spent her last days and hours listening to their mostfamiliar voices as well as enjoying christian music and prayer. Several days prior to her death she told us we were having "service" as she lifted her hands in worship and mouthed the words of some very special songs. Annie was born on October 13, 1933 in Timnath Colorado to Belen and Rosa Luna, the first of eleven children. Her parents also preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, George Romero on November 25, 1951. After spending a few years in California they settled down in Fort Collins raising seven children in a loving and caring home. Annie enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping. She also worked outside the home for several years, but enjoyed raising her children the most. She had a love for Qdoba and bear claws from Panera Bread, but she loved nothing more than being surrounded by her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. We will lovingly remember her whenever watching Everybody Loves Raymond, The Golden Girls, or Law and Order. We will greatly miss her cooking, her laughter and her stories. Not being able to just sit and talk with her leaves a huge void in our lives. Annie was the most patient, kind, loving and forgiving person we may ever know. Her loyalty to family is a trait we all hope to carry on. Annie is survived by three sons, George Jr., Edward and Greg Charlene Romero. Three daughters, Susan Laurence Solano, Debbie Sam Valdez and Linda Trent, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, four sisters and five brothers. A going-home celebration will be held Tuesday November 4, 2014 at 1:00pm at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins. Contributions may be made to either Annie Romero in care of Bohlender or Hospice of Larimer County in Annie's name. Please visit bohlenderfuneralchapel.com to send the family online condolences.
