Amber Spaulding, a beloved member of the Fort Collins community, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, after a brief battle with illness. Born on May 27, 1977, in Fort Collins, Colorado, Amber was a shining light to all who knew her, cherished for her warmth, kindness, and infectious smile.
Amber was the cherished daughter of Carl and June Spaulding, who survive her alongside a close-knit network of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Throughout her life, Amber's family and dear friends were a constant source of love and support, and she touched each of their lives in her unique, joyful way.
Educated in Special Needs at Poudre High School, Amber continued to thrive in her community through various programs dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities. After high school, she attended the Fort Collins Foothills-Gateway day program. She was actively involved with the AbleLight day program until her passing. These programs not only provided opportunities for growth and development but also offered Amber a sense of belonging and friendship that she cherished deeply.
Amber was a devoted member of the Fort Collins Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she found solace and joy in participating in Sabbath School and the Worship hour. Her faith was an integral part of her life, as was her involvement with the Jesus Cares a community program, where she bonded with her disabled friends over shared spiritual experiences.
Amber's heart was filled with simple joys and hobbies that brought her happiness. She delighted in creative activities such as shredding paper, playing with stickers, and engaging in crafts. Listening to movies and CDs, as well as spending time with her friends and staff at the day programs, were among her favorite pastimes. Ever the avid sports fan, Amber eagerly followed NASCAR, the Broncos, and the Rockies, sharing her enthusiasm with those around her.
Her personal qualities were as bright as her smile—Amber was known for her happiness, friendliness, and a sense of humor that was all her own. Her capacity for kindness and forgiveness left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Amber's life will be held on October 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Fort Collins Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 2040 Nancy Gray Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado. Friends and family are invited to gather in her memory and honor the beautiful life she lived.
