Amber Renee Ashby

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Amber R. Smith who passed at her home in Ault, Colorado on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the age of 43.

She was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on October 11, 1981. She attended Waverly and Putnam Elementary, Lesher Junior High and Poudre High School where she was active in music, art and sports with emphasis on softball and basketball!

Amber would meet the love of her life, Andrew S. Ashby and soon marry on September 8, 2007, at a beautiful outside ceremony in the Pawnee National Grasslands, east of Fort Collins. She became a loving mother of five amazing children! She took pride in raising them and made sure to instill family values. With the purchase of their home in Ault, Colorado they became active in remodeling and making it their own. The children loved going on walks and riding bikes in the neighborhood. At home, she enjoyed crafts, hobbies, gardening, music and cooking!

Amber loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding horses, fishing, camping and long drives in the mountains.

Her life has not ended; she has just begun. She was a beautiful soul to have known, and we all will truly miss her. May God love her in all His glory.

Amber is survived by her children Liam, Kaden, Ezra and Olivia; her mother LaVon Ashby; Sister's Alicia Scriven and Jessica Ashby (Lori), Owen, Samantha & Kristina, Nevaeh, Parker, Willow & Maddox, the father of her children Andrew Ashby; aunts Cheryl Swartz-Prescott, Jackie Swartz, Debbie Ekdahl and Jenny Ekdahl; cousins: Loretta Anne Mokihana Smith, Jennifer Hernandez (Smith) Julie Sievers (Bill), Lana Grammer, Dean Kapperman (Judy), Don Kapperman, John Kapperman (Karen), Ron Kapperman (Kellie), Terri Hanson (Troy), Cheri Shaw (Lee), Shane Swartz (Cassie), Quentin Swartz (Karen), Joshua Swartz (Jodi), Ryan Swartz (Jamie), John Eckdahl, Jeri Eckdahl, and Jenny Smith's children... . She is also survived by 32 second cousins and 11 third cousins.

She is predeceased by her daughter Libra A. Ashby, her father Richard J. Smith, Grandparents Dale and Opal Swartz and Alvin and Ida Mae Smith, Aunts Colleen Grammer, Sharon Kapperman and Joan Smith and Uncles Roger Swartz, Randall Swartz, Kenneth Smith, Barry Smith, Randy Smith, Bob Grammer and Gene Kapperman.

Viewing will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 West Olive Street, Fort Collins, Colorado from 5 to 7pm on Friday, September 26, 2025. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, September 27, 2025, 1pm at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
