Alma V. Amey, 93, of Fort Collins, died October 27, 2011 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Amey was born July 6, 1918 at the family ranch up Rist Canyon in Bellvue, Colorado to John A. and Maude B. Mapes, Sr. Alma married H. Wayne Amey on June 4, 1937 in Fort Collins. Wayne passed away in 1983. Alma attended school at Stratton Park and high school in Timnath, Colorado. Mrs. Amey did housework for various families in Fort Collins. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, fishing, and hunting grouse. She always had time for tea parties, walks, and games with her grandchildren. They all enjoyed staying overnight with grandma. Alma was a member and attended Plymouth Congregational Church. Survivors include her son, Roger Donna; daughter, Judy Bernard Earl, Jr.; sister, Ruth Parker of Lititz, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Sandra Greybar Will, Keith Amey Martha, Earl Bernard III Kristi; step great-grandchildren, Austin Pettit, Dalton Jackson, and Sydney Pettit; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Alma in death were her parents, John and Maude Mapes; her husband, Wayne; brothers, Willis, Luther and John Mapes, Jr.; sisters, Neva Morgenstern, Almeada Neergaard and Mildred Baker. A Funeral Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mrs. Amey from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
