Allan Arthur Sweet, 80, of Everett, WA passed away on December 28, 2021.
Allan was born on April 10, 1941 at home in Sac County, Iowa to Elmer and Lillian (Terwilliger) Sweet. In high school Allan played the cornet in the band and played on the undefeated, never-scored-on football team. After graduating from Crestland High School in Early, IA in 1959, he joined the Air Force and served until 1963. Allan lived in Storm Lake, IA until he moved to Oak Harbor, WA in 1979. He joined the Air Force National Guard and travelled with the military to Alaska and Germany. He was proud of his service to his country. In Washington, he worked as an electrician until his retirement in 1996. His favorite place to visit was Yellowstone National Park.
Allan is survived by his daughter, Tammie (Tad) Borrett of Severance, CO; three grandchildren, Ryan (Kaitlyn), Jeffrey and Lauren; and two great grandsons, Kenny and Miles. He is also survived by his sister, Janice Henry of Lacey, WA; brother, Eldon, of Sioux City, IA; nieces Kim Henry-Baumgartner and Laura Slye; nephews Jeffrey and Aaron Henry and Rusty and Curtis Sweet and many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lillian.
A private, family service is planned for a future date. Band of Angels is a charitable organization "that addresses financial barriers students face by providing band and orchestra instruments and music camp scholarships to children in need".
