Alice Nelson Williamson, 64, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away on April 4, 2021 after a well-fought battle with leukemia.
Alice was born on September 26, 1956 to Kenneth and Donetta Nelson in Fort Collins, Colorado. After returning home from college with a degree in English, she spent her career working for Poudre School District, retiring after giving over 30 years of service to public education.
Alice met her husband David Williamson in 1980. They were married on November 24, 1984 and went on to have two daughters, Leigh Anne and Elizabeth.
Family and friends came first to Alice and were above all else. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
She was an avid quilter, loved to travel, and always had an uncanny ability to find the humor in everything. Alice was a talented technical writer and is undoubtedly somewhere right now critiquing the grammar in this obituary.
Alice was preceded in death by her mother, Donetta Nelson, and niece, Abigail Nelson. She is survived by her husband, David; two daughters, Leigh Anne and Elizabeth; father, Kenneth Nelson; brothers, Nels (Annie) Nelson and Walter (Sandy) Nelson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 9:30AM at Timberline Windsor located at 360 Crossroads Boulevard, Windsor, Colorado. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Collins. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to BeTheMatch.org to help other patients with blood cancer get the care and support they need.
