Alice Joyce Jeffers was born near Devil's Tower, Wyoming, to Hans and Francis von Kaenel. She was the second of five siblings: Rolfe, Kenneth, Jean and Doris. Later, her half sister, Hazel, came along. All preceded her in death.
After graduating from Sedgwick High School, Joyce, as she preferred to be called, moved to Fort Collins where she met and married Rusty Jeffers.
Joyce was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church. There she participated in a sewing group for many years. She worked more than 40 years at Forney Industries with her sister, Jean, and daughter , Glenda Anderson.
In addition to her job, she baked and decorated cakes for the church, weddings, parties, and birthdays for family and friends.
Joyce was a talented artist as a painter, seamstress, and baker. A favorite annual task was designing and painting wooden Christmas tree ornaments to be distributed at the family Christmas tree hunt.
Whether near or far away, her grandchildren anxiously awaited the beautiful sugar cookies she baked and decorated every holiday.
Her family was her greatest joy. Rusty and Joyce had three children. Delbert, Glenda Anderson and Janet Tucay. Rusty and Delbert preceded her in death.
In addition to her daughters, she is survived by daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Jeffers and sons-in-law, Terry Anderson and Pons Tucay. She had nine grandchildren and numerous great and great grandchildren.
Joyce always looked forward to family gatherings and the joyful singing that waslikely to happen with grandson, Scott Jeffers, in attendance.
