Alfred "Chan" Solano, 68, of Fort Collins, died Nov. 17, 2006, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Mr. Solano was born March 4, 1938, in Fort Collins to Joseph Solano and Stella Marquez Sanchez. Chan married Ernestine "Ernie" Baldivia Solano on Aug. 9, 1958, in Fort Collins. He lived all his life in Fort Collins. Chan was a construction laborer and a member of the Local 720 Labor Union for 50 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and drawing. Survivors include his wife, Ernie Solano, of Fort Collins; three daughters, Kathryn Macias, of Aurora, Debra Padia, of Denver, and Christina Solano-Clever and her husband, Michael, of Thornton; two brothers, Joe and Richard Solano, both of California; three sisters, Toni Guerrero and JoAnn Godinez, of California, and Mary Ann Baldivia, of Fort Collins; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding Chan in death were his parents and one great grandchild. A memorial service will be at Timberline Church, 2908 Timberline Road, at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
