Alex Daugherty, 75, of Livermore, passed away Sept. 10, 2006. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Livermore Community Church. Alex was born in Fort Madison, Iowa. Her parents were Christ and Calliope Pothitakis. She lived in Greece from the ages of 3 until 16, when she moved back to Fort Madison. She married Richard Daugherty in 1950 and they moved to Colorado in 1952. Alex is survived by her children, Julie Auch, Judy Cox and Robert Daugherty; grandchildren, Brandon, Josh, Matthew and Rachel Auch, and Bradley and Tyler Daugherty; great-grandchildren, Allie, Hailey, Kylie, Michael and Seth Auch; sister, Marna Miller; sons-in-law, Ron Auch and Jim Cox; sisters-in-law, Aline Hosford, Doe McVeigh and Inez Pothitakis; and many friends. Alex was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; brother, Nick Pothitakis; and sister, Ange Walter. Among her family and many friends she was an example of loving kindness. Her passing lessens the richness of this world, but is surely celebrated in the next. The family wishes to express its gratitude for the generous and caring support of the staff and volunteers of the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center and Hospice of Larimer County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County, in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 West Olive St., Fort Collins, CO 80524.
