First born of the late Albert Carter Savage, Sr. and Ruth Haggard. Born on the farm in Mason County, Kentucky, he was eldest brother of the beloved late James Wendover Savage and adored Nina Ruth Baker.

A very proud father of three; Albert C. Savage III of AZ, Nyanna K. Fischer of Fort Collins, CO; and William M. Savage of W.VA. Grandfather of five plus five step grandchildren of whom he was so proud.

Great grandfather of 14 plus two step great-grandchildren of which he loved so much. He adored his seven nephews and two nieces and their families.

After leaving his father's agricultural farm, he earned a teaching degree from Asbury College. He was a P.E. teacher at Asbury College in 1949-50. He taught 4th grade in Yorkville public school in '52-'53. A Chandler student at Emory University '50-'54, where he was an assistant speech instructor during his last year. He was a Truant Officer in Vanceburg city school in '58 He worked as an interim preacher at 1st Church of God in Russel, KY, in '63; and sat on the board as an adviser with the KY Conference Credit Union.

Traveled as a European Tour Host in '70-'73, when he introduced Europe to his daughter and niece. Served as a volunteer Fireman and Life Squad Driver in Taylor Mill, KY, for seven years;

The chaplain of the Civil Air Patrol for 18 years in the KY Wing Chapter and retired a Lt. Colonel in '96. He served as an avid volunteer with Habitat for Humanity for 15 years, and completed missionary work to build homes and schools in Haiti and Belize.

During his free time he was an agricultural Tree Farmer and a Keeper of Bees.

Al accomplish this all while working full time in 27 Pastoral appointments in the United Methodist Church in Pennsylvania and Kentucky from 1949 -1991. When he retired, he moved back to the family farm in Nicholasville, Kentucky, where he continued to grow more trees and provide housing to Seminary students from all over the world.

Recently, Al went to live his last months in Colorado with his Daughter and her family where he was much loved through his last days. Al was a kind and compassionate man who was always ready to share many stories with whomever would take the time to hear them. Albert C. Savage, Jr. passed peacefully after his sixth stroke in Morningstar Memory care apartment surrounded by many who loved him.
